One for the sky!
RECAP
Transformers:One animated movie was released almost two years ago and featured many prominent Transformers character prior to their arrival on Earth in the original G1 cartoon series.
Even before TF:One movie was shown back then... I started building the characters using official LEGO sets... starting with Orion Pax aka future Optimus Prime!
And most recently, I made TF:One Soundwave using LEGO set 31152 (video below)
And finally..its time for yet another fan favorite Transformers character to shine.... Starscream!
VEHICLE MODE
At the initial stage of this project, I did some homework as always by googling photos of TF:One Starscream and watch video review of the toy version to get a clearer understanding of his jet mode.
After spending hours doing my research, I initially assumed his wings are straight all the way. The angled wing tips was noticed later on, and I redesigned them accordingly
What a pure stroke of luck where I found the rounded hinge plates where I can angle the wings forward and down too as needed!
The cannons below the nosecone was a pleasant discovery halfway through this project. The chunky parts used as this cannon is spot on, well, almost!
With straightened wing tips.
TRANSFORM!
The arms are tabbed to the legs in jet mode. Let's untab them.
Thanks to the classic lego hinged brick from the set used. I managed to replicate Starscream chest in robot mode. This nosecone/cockpit design was an eureka moment that spurred me to start this project actually.
ROBOT MODE
I almost got everything right when it comes to the shaping of the robot mode. However.. I have to make tradeoffs with a less bulkier shoulder in the toy version.
MORE ACTION POSES
With gun
MURPHY'S LAW STRIKES AGAIN!
Apparently I have only just one rounded dark red piece on his left ankle, but not right . This error was discovered after photos above have been snapped. So the legs have been redesigned not to use the piece.
