A fitting end to Year of the Dragon!
RECAP
This year (2024) is the Year of the Dragon in Chinese Zodiac. And at the beginning of this year, I actually intend to build a Transformer Dragon to commemorate it. However, I kinda forgotten about it until last month (Nov 2024).
So I quickly get to work. I seldom build Transformers with Dragon mode. The previous (and only) attempt was in 2020! (video below)
I planned to use bigger LEGO sets to build a TF dragon , but they're all tied up with other ongoing projects, so I have to choose set 31121 instead.
ABOUT SET 31121
LEGO set 31121: Crocodile was released in the year 2021 (and purchased in 2022). I made many Transformers using the said set.. and many of them were evil Decepticon leaders across Transformers franchise. However, the most recent Transformer I made set 31121 was an Autobot leader though (Vector Prime, video below)
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
I nailed 90% of this project in matter of few days! It posed very little challenges to me , thanks to me able to channel my experience building a two-headed dragon Transformer few years ago.
The final enhancements to this creation was implementing mechanism to prop the lower neck joint preventing the head from sagging.
Since transformation is super easy, I won't be showing them here.
ROBOT MODE
My favorite photo from the whole bunch, casually walking on the street. I remembered this pose in a few Beano comic strips characters.
MORE ACTION POSES
Robot mode stability are very good thanks to dragon heads biting the dust.
