LEGO Transformer Tiger , alternate build of LEGO Dreamzzz 71497: Cooper's Tiger Mech and Zero's Hot rod car
This breaks the record held by LEGO Bumblebee!!
ABOUT DREAMZZZ
This inhouse LEGO theme has been around for a couple of years. When it was first launched few years ago.. I was excited to see the colorful sets with ball joints to boot.. perfect ingredients for my LEGO Transformers.
However.... I could't commit to purchase them because those ball joints were meant to connect to the tubular parts that seemed like a common fixture for this theme. So I couldn't utulize them for my Transformers limbs/engineering. Argggh......!
I finally snatched one Dreamzzz set 2 years ago coz I discovered it going at a huge discount at a local hypermarket . Initially I planned to use the parts for this set (Bunchu) to complete my project Blurr Before I do so, I tinkered around with the set and after some profoundly minor tweaks... I turned it into a Transformer ! (video tutorial below)
About LEGO Dreamzzz 71497
This year (2026), LEGO Dreamzzz offerings simply blew me away! Many of the bigger sets has tons and tons of ball joints and their color scheme are just what I needed to fill in the gaps the current sets I owned and used to build LEGO Transformers.
Then I discovered set 71497 ,released last year. My spider-sense tingled like mad and I must have it! With more than 1000 parts , this set has officially dethroned my LEGO 10338 Bumblebee (less than 1000 parts) as the biggest set I owned so far to build my Transformers!
Another must-buy reason are the wheels from the set allows me to potentially build more Transformers with land modes in the future, too!
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The main models from this set as shown in the box art is the mech and the car , and by reassembling the chunk of built components, another car and tiger mech can be formed.
So naturally..... as the project Transformer I build using this set turns into a mechanical tiger. So there!
I know what you're thinking. Me too. The longer i look at this built, the more it reminds me of Voltron Red Lion.
Before this project, I was building 2 Transformers with similar modes ,scheduled to be released weeks after this one. This probably contributed to my decision to start this project, as the engineering for this animal mode still fresh in my brain.
The hind legs design was revised multiple times which you will understand why later in the transformation steps photos.
If Pokeball has an alternate mode rather than just a vessel to store Pokemons ... this beast should be the one it transforms into!

This sword was a last minute addition because my recent project Grimlock showed him wield his sword in many cool ways. I will consider implementing more swords in my future creations.
TRANSFORM
Tab the animal hind legs to form whole robot legs.
Notice how the lught grey bar helps to secure the animal legs, now unpeg it to unfold the whole robot legs
ROBOT MODE
This project is the most recent one I started (a week ago) and there's about 4 pending projects earlier than it. Due to its newbie (read: new set) status., I prioritize publishing this one first ASAP coz there's a few more projects I plan to start with the set in the future!
