Thunder! Thunder! Thunder! Thunderpups....... transform!
Uhmmm so OK . This might be the cheesiest line I made for my blog post in many many years.
ABOUT THUNDERTANK
Thundertank is definitely most iconic vehicle from Thundercats Cartoon series back in the 1980s.
The past few years, I made a few Thundertank Transformers using official LEGO sets. The more prominent one is definitely the one I made using set 31152 (video below)
ABOUT THIS PROJECT (PUPPY THUNDERTANK TRANSFORMER)
This is my first Transformer built using LEGO Creator 31382: Playful Puppy. As always.... I try to make my first attempt to be an easier one, like building a Transformer with space cruiser mode.
I failed after struggling for an hour or so. Then I restarted anew and thought perhaps a ground mode would be more viable. So again.... I tried a hovercar mode (like Arcee) but one thing led to another. So here we are! Thundertank it is!
The parts utilization was so tight that I was forced to use the puppy eye pieces in my creation here. Guess where those eyes ended up on!
One of the eureka moment was when I found out I can connect quarter round bricks facing away from each other to form the paw!
The decision to proceed with Thundertank mode was due to the curved blueish parts that could mimic tank treaks.
Another push for me to buld this Thundertank was the paw-turned-robot-hand idea. There aren't that many parts from the set I can use to build dedicated robot hands actually.
TRANSFORM!
ROBOT MODE
Excuse my mitten hands!
