This project is my redemption!!
PROLOGUE
Last year, I promised to build a Transformer using LEGO 31157: Exotic Peacock. And so I did, but that project was done in a haste as I started building in late December and published the video tutorial on the very last day of 2024! (video below)
So, admittedly I could've done a better job if given more time to refine the creation above. I disliked how the robot feet turned out, honestly.
Around middle of February the subsequent year (2025) , I started to give this set a crack again. I'm not sure what happened precisely but I kinda "accidentally" bumped into a youtube video featuring Brainstorm , a character from G1 Transformers cartoon series that turned into a cybertronian jet plane (below). And the rest is history!
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Well, this creation was inspired heavily from Brainstorm above. And I actually completed 90% of this project in about 3 days! And by day 3, I even initiated yet one more Transformer Brainstorm project using one more LEGO set that I haven't utilized for more than 6 months ! And both Brainstorm projects ran concurrently.
Usually most of my photos of vehicle Transformers can easily fit into a square image dimension, but this exception here has wide wingspan so landscape size dominates!!
The robot feet were fixed for most part of this project and this prevented the jet mode from being level on the ground. And applying landing gears at the front is not an option either. Read on to find out how I solve this problem.
TRANSFORM!
Legs are improved to allow the feet be folded up in jet mode (above)
Two ball joints are applied to the nosecone to ensure stability in jet mode , and also when it's folded to the back of robot mode.
