It's Double Dragon week!
PROLOGUE
About few weeks ago, I was working on Dragon Megatron using LEGO set 31166 (below).
While working on project above .... I was inspired to build another one using LEGO Bumblebee set. So both projects kinda ran concurrently.
ABOUT LEGO 10338: BUMBLEBEE
This versatile set was released in 2024 and I vowed to built at least 30 or more Transformers using this set. The only thing that can foil my plan would be a new official LEGO Transformers that could shift my attention. And no... official LEGO Soundwave still failed to sway me there.
ABOUT PROJECT DRAGON MEGATRON
Well, initially I was hesistant to start the ball rolling due to limited ball joints from the Bee set mentioned above. However.....the set compensated by having a ton of hinge plates that I can utilize. And it's been ages since I made a TF with animal modes using this set.
The dragon mode ended up less than articulate than my other previous Megatron Dragon creations with ball jointed neck especially. But it trumps when it comes to overall aesthetics!
The hinged pieces are unable to cope with the weight of the head and it sagged. What you see in this final neck design was about 3 studs shorter compared to my initial design, a futile attempt in reducing the length to fix the sagging issue.
Note how I use additional hinged mechanism to hold the neck together . You don't like him when he' unhinged!
Compared to my previous Megatron Dragon creations, this one here has the most accurate feet /ankle bent to the original toy.
This is the "cheering for his favorite sports team" pose. Go go go team Terrorcons!!
To nitpick on my own creations... I'm not too keen on his puny arms / mitten hands either.
TERRORIZE!
Push the notch down behind his neck !
