Video Tutorial: Transformer Space Cruiser /Misfire using LEGO 31381: Fierce Shark

My first Transformer made using 2026 LEGO set !!!

PROLOGUE

About 2 weeks ago, I purchased a few new LEGO sets released this year to start off  yet again my LEGO Transformers journey. I started a poll in my youtube to seek public opinions on which set I should start using first. And so.... set 31381 won the poll!

Few days into the poll above, the said set was gaining the most support , leaving the other other 2 competing sets  by a big margin. I immediately get down to work before this poll ended a week later. So here we are!

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This project is based on Misfire, a character from  G1 Transformers cartoon series. (below)

Over the years, I made a few Misfires , and many of them using official LEGO sets too! Click here to  see them.

Let's return to Misfire made using this Shark set!

To be honest,  initially I decided to publish this much later (next month perhaps?)  coz I already scheduled my creations  to be published for this month earlier. However,  I changed my mind after the poll, and I wanted to start the new year appropriately by publishing something using a new 2026 LEGO set.

The "winner" for the most challenging part to build is the nosecone! The curvy aesthetics is easy, but building a hinged,  structurally sound one is hard! The final design above is my 3rd iteration.

The gun,  as final  icing on this "cake" is also quite a tricky built, since I must make do with whatever leftover parts after building the main creation.  This gun alone took me at least 30%  of the project's time!

So both issues are fixed by implementing landing gears at the back, and a longer robot heels.

TRANSFORM!

Unpeg the arms from the jet body.  Note how the robot feet and heels are folded snugly inside the jet body too!

At this point, you can see chunky looking landing gears nade out of technic bricks  with axle hole, ready to be folded up.

VIDEO TUTORIAL

The following youtube video contains tutorial on how to build this creation, except the wings. They're quite easy to build simply by staring at the photos long enough! Alternatively, you may purchase complete building instructions in soft copy/PDF documents from the link below as well!
