This guy is going solo!
PROLOGUE
It's been more than one year since I acquired LEGO 10338 Bumblebee! And so far I have built 5 custom Transformers using the set, with the most recent one being Locomotive Bumblebee from Hearts of Steel comic series (video below) .
Before this project, all the Transformers I made using this Bee set never fully utilized the tire pieces at all!
1) Misfire : nope , no tires
2) Lion Transformer: nope no tires
3) Metroplex : not using the tires either!
4) Transformers; One Bee: Well..almost..... 2 white rims were used for this built
5) Locomotive Bee: Utilized all 4 white rims
As soon as I completed loco Bee last month, I finally decided to build a Transformer that will fully utilize all 4 tires. One of the plans was actually a Transformer with monster truck mode.

ABOUT PROJECT SCRAPPER
Again, fate has other plans for me. Instead of proceeding with a monster truck mode, I ended up building Scrapper the excavator. I think the epithany came when I noticed there's a bunch of curved slopes that seemed like they could be used as teeth for the shovel bucket. The rest, folks... is history!
Due to the shovel bucket being built using many pieces , it's pretty heavy and might tend to sag/droop in certain raised positions.
And of coz... don't even put stuff on the bucket either to compound to the weight problem.
With gun mounted.
With 3rd Party Movie Optimus Prime aka Challenger and Masterpiece Hot Rodimus.
With Peppa Plane!
TRANSFORM!
These spurs on the legs (above) were applied to stabilize the robot mode. What I did not anticipate was that they can be folded inwards as well.
Nudge the knee flaps to secure the knee joints, preventing the robot mode from toppling over when upright. You can actually go all the way to fold the flaps to the back of the knees for a neater look, but this will reduce the knee articulations to about 45 degrees.
ROBOT MODE
I usually build the head last and was once stumped by how to conceal his head inside the chest. Luckily there are more elegant ways without massive redesign, as you can see in earlier transformation photos.
The vehicle roof helps to prop the shovel bucket and prevented the latter from sagging.
ACTION POSES
WITH GUN
Note how the hinged flank panels are folded out to help prop the arm to aim the gun straight ahead.

WILL THERE BE DEVASTATOR ?
This project is a one off thingy , hence the "solo" term I used to describe Scrapper at the beginning of this post. This means I won't he won't be able to form Devastator. However..... I might just build another "solo" Constructicon member that could utilize all 4 tires from this Bee set. No points for guessing which character I am referring to. Bye!!
