Transformer:One Soundwave ,alternate build of LEGO Creator 31152: Space Astronaut

One for the road!

PROLOGUE

Month before  Transformers:One animated movie premiered at the cinemas back in 2024,  I started building my first LEGO Transformers from the movie , Orion Pax aka Optimus Prime using one LEGO set (video below)

And days after the movie premiered.... D-16 aka Megatron arrives ... made using LEGO set 31152 !

And the subsequent year, I made TF:One  Shockwave  ,also using set 31152..... and then Bumblebee as well!

Almost half  of this year (2026)  has gone by and it's time for me to give TF:ONE some love again..so I've decided to focus more on this theme.

ABOUT PROJECT TF:ONE SOUNDWAVE

Soundwave was chosen before he's next in line when it comes to fan favorite characters from TF:One movie.  So I did some googling and discovered an official TF:One Soundwave toy by Hasbro has not been  released as I am typing this, but scheduled for the 2nd half of the year!

However, its official photos bugged me due to how the front end of his vehicle/space cruiser (below) being not accurate to the actual character from the movie

And this makes me want to quickly made one on my own using LEGO!  Hold my beer moment indeed!

2 years ago when I first saw Soundwave's alt mode, I thought the photo orientation was wrong since the thrusters seemed to face the front . Then I found out it's probably deliberate to differentiate him from Shockwave's space cruiser mode.

And those "thrusters" at the front of his vehicle mode are probably boomboxes speakers.

The "coattals" on his vehicle mode were initally dangling and this frustrates me when the vehicle was held upside down, causing these tails to droop.

So in the final days of Cybertronian war uhmmmm  I mean project , I redesigned the hinged tails to allow them to connect to the vehicle body via one stud each side.

TRANSFORM!

ROBOT MODE

Lil things that excites me:  replicating the visual  features of the original character (not the toy, this time around)  with.... like the round speaks on his shoulders.

Noticed the V-shaped motive on his chest. Coincidentally set 31152 has just the right part to mimic this design!

I'me absolutely grateful towards LEGO for producing plates with rounded corners. They make good hinges. This allows the kibble to be further folded and tucked to the back of robot mode.

Initially I planned to build a minion for him that integrated into his vehicle mode.  I changed my mind because I should dedicated all the parts  to improve the main build .

Since he's not yet evolved to become the G1 Soundwave we love today, I guess he don't need his minions just yet.
