This creation is affectionately known as DinoJet, paying homage to the name of the LEGO Creator set 31058: Mighty Dinosaurs that was released in the year 2017.
Back then (2017), I already made a Transformer (video below) from this set and kept him displayed on my shelf till recently. It was my crowning glory as it helped me to attain first prize in an alternate build contest in an event organized by a local LUG (LEGO User Group).

Anyway, recently I receive a request by one of my youtube followers to build another TF from this set. So I took up the challenge. In the beginning, my 2nd attempt here hit a false start and decided to scrap the design and restart anew. Photo of the scrapped design is shown in my Instagram (link below):
DINOJET JET MODE
The tailfins design was accidental! Keep scrolling to know why.
TRANSFORMATION
To me, ball joints are commodities in a LEGO set. And I always prioritize them be used as robot mode joints for wider range of articulations. For this creation however, I decided to apply ball joints on the feet, becoming ankle tilts. Unintended result of this design allows the feet to be rotated to become jet tailfins!
The jet kibble design that conceals the robot head was taking cue from my recent creation: Elita Magnus
I have a choice of folding up the jet nosecone the back of the robot mode neatly (complete 180 degree swing) , at the expense of weaker connection to the body. I decided to favor stronger connections instead, and the range reduced to about 160 degree.
